For Latonya and Jonathan, their destination wedding in Bimini, Bahamas was designed to feel romantic, bold and unmistakably them.
On February 15, 2025, the couple gathered with family and friends at Resorts World Bimini for a celebration surrounded by turquoise water, island sunshine and the people they loved most. Their original wedding plans anticipated approximately 80 guests, creating the perfect balance between a destination getaway and a full-scale celebration.
Their vision?
Red. Black. A hint of gold. And, in their own words, “A night of Romance with the Albert’s.”
And that vision came beautifully to life.
Saying “I Do” by the Water
One look at Latonya and Jonathan's ceremony photographs and you understand exactly why couples fall in love with destination weddings in Bimini.
The couple exchanged vows at the resort's signature white gazebo with the brilliant blue waters of Bimini stretching across the horizon behind them. Resorts World Bimini lists its Wedding Ceremony Gazebo among its dedicated wedding venues, alongside its beaches, rooftop terrace and ocean-view ballrooms.
But it was the people surrounding Latonya and Jonathan who truly brought the setting to life.
The bridal party carried the couple's red-and-black palette beautifully. Bridesmaids wore striking red gowns while the groom and groomsmen incorporated black formalwear with rich red accents.
Latonya walked toward Jonathan in an intricately detailed white wedding gown and veil, creating a beautiful contrast against the bold colors of their wedding party and the soft blues and whites of the Bimini backdrop.
The ceremony design itself remained intentionally elegant. Red floral arrangements with lush greenery framed the couple without competing with the natural beauty of the ocean behind them.
Their original planning vision called for semi-circle ceremony seating, further emphasizing the intimate feeling they wanted for the ceremony.
After the softness and natural beauty of the ceremony, the wedding transitioned into something completely different for the reception.
This is where the couple's “Night of Romance” concept really took over.
Black, red and gold created a sophisticated evening atmosphere. Their inspiration from the beginning leaned toward dramatic red florals, black tablescapes and metallic gold accents.
And the details carried that aesthetic throughout the celebration.
One of our favorite elements was the black-and-gold seating chart welcoming guests into the reception. Beyond it, the ballroom was transformed with dark tables, dramatic florals, lighting and a statement dance floor featuring oversized red roses.
It was romantic without being delicate.
Elegant without being predictable.
And bold without losing the feeling of a wedding.
This is also one of the things we love about weddings at Resorts World Bimini: couples aren't limited to one aesthetic simply because they're getting married on an island. The resort offers ocean-view ballroom spaces in addition to its outdoor ceremony locations, allowing a wedding to transition from tropical and airy to formal and dramatic within the same celebration.
A Wedding That Felt Like Them

And one photograph from Latonya and Jonathan's wedding captures that beautifully.
Walking together after the ceremony, Latonya is smiling from ear to ear beside her new husband. Her veil is gathered in one hand, her bouquet in the other, and Jonathan is right beside her.
It's joyful.
It's relaxed.
And it feels real.
